Welcome to our next update on the Match Fit Initiative! In this article, we will be covering how Ultimate and Enhanced Editions will work now that we are moving to a continuous app that you do not need to redownload every year. As part of the planned changes to the app, we’ve made some changes to the way Ultimate and Enhanced Editions will work going forward.
Yearly Purchase
Similar to how it is now, Ultimate Edition and Enhanced Edition will continue to be yearly purchases. The products can be purchased each year after the launch of our annual major update which is usually in September each year. This works exactly the same as it used to, only with the added benefit of letting you keep any spare gold, boosts, or cash tokens from year to year – no need to lose anything you had left after every release!
As an added bonus to make Ultimate Edition better than ever before, buying Ultimate will also remove the agent’s fee, meaning that the 10,000 gold included with the product will be even better value than before.
Changes to Save Slots
This is where the biggest changes around Ultimate and Enhanced Editions come through. As they will need purchasing yearly, we have had to do some significant work to how save slots work to make the system as fair as possible. We also wanted to make sure that your progress is never lost permanently if you choose not to repeat your VIP purchase.
From SM26 onwards, Ultimate Edition will provide 7 total save slots and Enhanced will provide 3. After reviewing the rate of save slot purchases, we have opted to make it so additional save slots can only be purchased if you own a copy of Ultimate Edition. These extra save slots will no longer appear in the store unless you own Ultimate Edition, and if you do, you can buy as many as you want.
If you choose not to purchase a new copy of Ultimate or Enhanced Edition, any additional save slots beyond the standard two that everyone will keep on starting with will be lost. Don’t worry though – your saves will not be deleted if your VIP status expires. They will remain locked until you repurchase a package, ready for you to come back and keep on building your team. If you already own extra save slots in SM25, you will need a copy of Ultimate Edition to keep on using these.
Ultimate & Enhanced During Beta
The SM26 Beta will be a bit of a crossover period with some unique interactions with Ultimate and Enhanced editions. If you already own one of these in SM25, you will continue to get all the benefits of it during the SM26 beta. These editions will expire as planned when SM26 fully releases later this year, but you’ll be able to enjoy them for the full year of SM25.
If you do not currently own Ultimate or Enhanced and you join the SM26 beta, you’ll still have the option to buy it. This will give you access to Ultimate and Enhanced for the full length of the beta, all the way through the SM26 release, right through to SM27 – all for the same price as they would usually cost! This gives you a few extra months of VIP, all for the same price.
